High-Performance Silica Bricks (>94% SiO2)

Henan Jianhong Refractory manufactures premium Silica Bricks produced from high-purity natural quartz silica and mineralizers (lime milk/iron scale). Our bricks are sintered at precise temperatures between 1350°C and 1430°C in advanced tunnel kilns.

This controlled firing process ensures the maximum transformation of quartz into Tridymite and Cristobalite. The result is a refractory brick with high volume stability, low true density, and exceptional strength at high temperatures. Unlike basic refractories, our silica bricks maintain their rigidity close to their melting point, making them indispensable for continuous high-heat operations.

Key Performance Features of Silica Bricks

  • High Temperature Strength: Maintains structural integrity up to 1680°C (RUL) without softening.

  • Acid Slag Resistance: Excellent resistance to acidic oxides (SiO2, CaO) and molten glass corrosion.

  • Volume Stability: Once heated above 600°C, the volume remains extremely stable with negligible thermal expansion variation.

  • Thermal Conductivity: Increases with temperature, aiding in efficient heat transfer in coke ovens.

Critical Applications of Jianhong Silica Bricks

  1. Coke Ovens: The primary material for carbonization chambers and combustion chambers due to load-bearing capacity and thermal conductivity.
  2. Glass Melting Furnaces: Used in the crown (roof) and superstructure. Our bricks resist alkaline vapor attack and do not drip impurities into the glass melt.
  3. Hot Blast Stoves: High-temperature zones and checker works in iron-making blast furnaces.

Silica Bricks Handling & Heating Guidelines (Engineer's Note)

Warning: Silica bricks have low thermal shock resistance below 600°C due to rapid crystal phase changes (cristobalite effect). Heating and cooling in this range must be slow and controlled. Above 600°C, they are shock-resistant.
